Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. They relocated to Oxfordshire at the age of five where she attended the Dragon School. Emma was inspired to become an actor when she was six. Over the course of several years, she attended the Oxford branch Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. In the school, she was taught singing dance, acting and singing. At the age of ten she was involved and performed the main role in several Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone The 2001 film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Casting agents found Emma via her Oxford theatre instructor. After eight consecutive auditions, the producer David Heyman told Emma and fellow applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been selected as the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. The debut of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. The film beat all previous records in terms of its opening and weekend ticket sales, and it was the top-grossing 2001 film. Critics were impressed with the movie and its performances. The Daily Telegraph in Britain that is distributed widely the newspaper, described her performance as outstanding. Emma later won five awards to honor her role in the movie.
